A quick little jaunt to the North of Vietnam, turned into a wondrous expedition through the mountainous region of Sapa.
The year was 2008, Iceland was plunged into bankruptcy by its major banks (sound familiar?) creating the largest economic depression in its history. Major businesses pulled away from the island nation, and the thoughts of entering the Eurozone quickly faded to black. It was a dark time for the country, and citizens began to wonder if the economy would ever rise.
The Lake District is located in the north of England, home to some of the highest peaks in Britain. Such a beautiful part of England is a hiker’s paradise. Towards the end of autumn hikes become difficult because of the 3 p.m. sunset and ever-changing temperatures
Tokyo is a magical place. With a strict tradition and a sense of ultra-modernism, there is no other place in the world quite like it. For me, it was the first foreign city that I ever experienced.The first time I felt finally accustomed to Japan’s magnetism, was while visiting the Akihabara district in Tokyo: the holy city of all things video games and pop culture, restaurants dedicated to TV shows, and girl bands.
Taking a long boat into Laos is about the cheapest way to get there from Thailand... its also two days long. A highlight of my trip in South East Asia. The natural beauty of the landscape and the culture of the people, make the two days seem like two hours.
